“The experience of grief is a great gift . . . for the heart that breaks
is just opening again”.

~ Sharon Callahan

Energy healing and flower essences are quite beneficial in helping animals to release the emotional aspect of leaving their family members behind which then allows for an effortless transition. These services are also offered to the animal’s human companions as they are extremely helpful in easing pain and sadness during the grieving process.

It is never easy to say goodbye to our beloved friend but it is something that is inevitable. Making the decision to euthanize is one of the most difficult things to be faced with. The same questions seem to arise; am I making the right decision, is it the right time, will they understand and forgive me. Although there are no easy answers to these questions Kathy believes our animals find ways to let us know when they are ready to go. At times these messages are as subtle as just simply knowing and other times it can be strong and not pleasant. Whether assisted or let to pass naturally animals do find their way home.

It is Kathy’s belief life continues on even after the death of the physical body. Think of the body as a butterfly cocoon. The butterfly signifies our very essence, our soul. For the butterfly to grow and mature it must remain in the cocoon until it is ready to be free of physical constraints and be one with nature. The cocoon symbolizes the body. In order to experience life and to grow spiritually we must utilize a vehicle to hold our soul. Once we have learned the lessons we came to experience it is then time to spread our wings and fly home. Einstein’s theory that energy can not die it can only be transformed supports this belief.

Kathy offers grief consulting and holds a monthly support group for those trying to cope with the loss of their beloved animal friend. There is no right or wrong way to grieve and no time frame for the empty feeling to go away.

Kathy’s own experiences have helped her to understand and honor the dying progress. Making the decision to euthanize and saying good bye was incredibility painful but her dogs also gave her a wonderful gift of knowing life continues on even after the body dies.
